Technical Rope Rescue
Our Technical Rope Rescue Team (TRR) trains about 5 hours a week to respond to incident in the eastern half of El Dorado County as well as to mutual aid requests. Our goal is to provide our community and visitors with safe, expert and timely extraction from hazardous situations. We average 10 to 15 calls for service a year in which the TRR team uses rope systems to assist in the rescue of person’s in distress or the recovery of those who have fallen.
During winter season we shift our focus to technical snow and ice conditions and train both personal and rescue mountaineering skills. The Tahoe Mountaineering Team (TMT) trains about 8 hours a week and has had the opportuinity to change the outcome of several critical calls in the last year, saving four lives.
